Businesses placing covered single-use plastic products on the German market may have registration and annual reporting obligations. This also applies to certain companies established outside Germany that sell directly to German customers through distance communication.
The EWKFondsG covers specific product categories, including food containers, bags and foil packaging, beverage containers and cups, lightweight carrier bags, wet wipes, balloons, and tobacco filters containing plastic.

Covered manufacturers must register with the German Environment Agency's DIVID platform and submit their annual quantities. The annual data declaration is generally due by 15 May for the previous calendar year.
